Calcutta University P.G Hall, 1, Vidyasagar Street is a heritage family. Each and every member of this family is more or less careful to each other. That’s why no one feels isolated. It has a tradition to accept any one from the heart. It has a capacity to protest against the evil and raises his voice for the good. It raises his head against the injustice and stays beside the weak. Here everyone can express his opinion freely. Here everyone can participate in debate on different aspect of life and society. Issues may be academic, may be games and culture or may be politics or any social crisis.There may be difference in opinion sometimes but there is no difference in mind. This is the spirit of our family to keep united ourselves.
All the ex-boarders of this hall are also the members of this family. They are always welcome to their parental home.
The two Ds and two Rs are the “MANTRA” of this family. The two Ds are DEMANDS and DUTY; the two Rs are RIGHTS and RESPONSIBILITY. They struggle for their Demands, at the same time they are careful about their Duties. They are aware about their Rights, but they never forget their Responsibility.
I hope all our family members in their practical life will follow this practice.
